India’s blunt response to Pakistan in the UN: Said PoK must be vacated, it is an illegal occupation.
UN Rejecting Pakistan’s comments on Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations, Ambassador P. Harish stated, “Once again, Pakistan’s representative has made inappropriate remarks about the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Repeated references of this kind do not validate their illegal claims, nor can Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism be justified.”
Pakistan must vacate its illegal occupation India reiterated in unequivocal terms that Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and will always remain an integral part of India.
Pakistan is in illegal occupation of areas of Jammu and Kashmir, which it must vacate.
According to P. Harish, “We would advise Pakistan not to divert attention in forums like the United Nations by pushing its narrow and divisive agenda.
” He added that India would refrain from exercising its right of reply in detail on this matter.
Need to adapt security missions to new challenges In this session,
which focused on reforms in peacekeeping, India emphasized the need to adapt security missions to emerging challenges.
P. Harish highlighted the role of troop- and police-contributing countries in shaping mandates and called for “adequate funding” to meet operational requirements.
No peacekeeping without women Harish spoke about the crucial role of women in peacekeeping. He stated,
“The question is no longer whether women can contribute to peacekeeping, but rather, can peacekeeping be done without women?”
Reaffirmed India’s unwavering commitment to UN peacekeeping India reaffirmed its “unwavering commitment” to UN peacekeeping and called for reforms in the Security Council,
so that the body can be “more reflective of and representative of current geopolitical realities.”
Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and will always remain an integral part of India.
Pakistan must vacate its illegal occupation and stop diverting attention at international forums.
