Canada Election: The result of Canada election will come today, Liberal Party is ahead in the surveys

CANEDA Ottawa Amid concerns over U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies, voting has begun in Canada. Polls opened at 7 a.m. local time (7:30 p.m. IST). At the time of reporting, voting was still underway.
Surveys show Liberal Party in the lead
Election results are expected to start coming in around 10 a.m. IST on Tuesday. Surveys suggest the Liberal Party is currently leading.
This election will decide whether the Liberals will continue to govern or if the Conservative Party will take over.
The main contest is between Prime Minister Mark Carney and opposition leader Pierre Poilievre,
but in many ways, this election is seen as a referendum on someone who isn’t even a Canadian citizen – U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump’s threats have fueled Canadian patriotism

Trump’s threats to make Canada the 51st U.S. state and to raise tariffs have deeply strengthened nationalistic feelings within Canada.
This has significantly boosted support for Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney, who has successfully convinced voters that he has the experience to counter Trump’s economic policies.
Before becoming Prime Minister, Carney led the central banks of both Canada and the United Kingdom.
Former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s unpopularity
Carney has also tried to distance himself from the highly unpopular former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Meanwhile, Poilievre has aggressively campaigned on issues like inflation and rising crime. Trudeau, seen as ineffective in tackling inflation and U.S.
pressures, had announced his resignation earlier this year in January, after which Mark Carney was chosen as Prime Minister.
Liberals at 42.6%, Conservatives at 39.9% support
A poll released on Sunday by CTV News, Globe and Mail, and Nanos Research indicated that the Liberals were polling at 42.6% support, while the Conservatives were close behind at 39.9%.
Trump’s promises — such as halving taxes, boosting military strength, and quadrupling industries like cars, steel,
aluminum, lumber, energy, and others — have raised concerns that Canada could effectively become the 51st U.S. state.
The election is widely seen as a decisive moment for Canada’s sovereignty and its future relationship with the United States.
