Videos of crowded hospitals are going viral on social media, but Mao Ning says that this is an annual phenomenon that happens during winter. The weather in China has also been very cold for the last few months, which may be the reason for this outbreak.

China’s National Disease Control and Prevention Administration has also issued guidelines for the prevention of respiratory diseases during the winter season. Its purpose is to alert people and prevent the possible spread of the virus.
